I'm sitting on my back porch. It's warm, still humid, a little windy...there's a storm rolling in, but it's a couple hours out yet. I have my Memorial Day candle lit - the flame is guttering, but hasn't gone out yet. I grilled a kielbasa for dinner - the mustard is too spicy for me (honey mustard my ass), so I have to pause between bites and guzzle tea.
I did all of my planting when I woke up this morning (at 5-freakin'-30 on a Satuday, not that I'm bitter); mint, thyme, basil, all snug in their new homes; seeds waiting under the soil to burst forth (because I am a lazy and bad gardener who did not start them early). I lit some incense, and the smell of sandalwood is mixing with soil and greenery and summer weather. It's awesome.
Pet peeve: any webpage with music that automatically starts playing when you load it. When I am at a computer, I have music going. I don't want to hear other music unless I first get the option to turn mine off. Grrrr.
Also, is it so much for a girl to get John Mayer to freakin' approve her myspace friend request? I mean, doesn't he have a frickin' lackey he can assign to that? Jeebus, it's not like I'm looking for a kidney, here.
You know how in a certain type of chick-lit novel, the heroine hits some crux or other in her life, and suddenly runs off to join the Peace Corps or to teach children in Africa how to read and write, or to bring food and medical supplis to earthquake victims in Bangladesh?
I totally understand that.
That is all.
