Children and spiders and bigots, oh my!
<<<--- -- 22 May 2006 -- --->>>

Ugh. I'm sick. The throat is raw, the head she hurts, the stomach....has issues. Clearly, my immune system is no match for the level of germ my neices are packing.

That's one thing I was reminded of this weekend....kids are work. There's no lounging around with a cup of coffee with kids around - must play, or talk, or read, or run around...crikey, I see why my brother always takes up anyone who offers to take the girls for awhile! I love them, but I am *so* glad I don't have kids. I had a blast with them, but I was beyond glad when they went home.

I had a weird dream over the weekend.

It started with this drag queen named Artie. I'm pretty sure I've dreamed about her before, but I can't remember when or how. Anyway, she was asking me for help in picking out a dress, and had three dresses standing on dress forms to choose from. Unfortunately, all three dresses were covered in these weird fist-sized balls of masking tape. Artie and I started picking the balls off the dresses....and as we did, we would see spiders appear with us in the room.

Not real spiders, fake ones, made out of pipe cleaners....but fake spiders the size of bean bag chairs, and just as scary as real ones. Everywhere. Like, hundreds of them.

Suddenly, Artie is John Ritter, and John Ritter turns to me and says, "Why are spiders everywhere?"

Then I wake up. I wonder what Freud would make of that.
