I finally broke down the other night and watched the latest Kevin Smith flick....granted, it came out, what, two years ago or something? I watched it because I love Kevin Smith, and even for love of his genius, there's only so much Affleck I can handle. So, yeah, I watched it. Here's what I learned:
1. Kevin Smith is a frickin' genius. Okay, I knew that already, but this reminded me, again and again.
2. Alhough Liv Tyler sometimes gets on my nerves with her wispy voice and big, giant eyes....I still think she has talent, and I kinda like her. Weird.
3. Affleck. Meh.
4. George Carlin may be my hero. I mean, we share a birthday, which is waycool right off the bat. And he's frickin' hialrious, also way cool. But there's this one moment at the end of "Jersey Girl" where he says something so dramatic and profound and emotionally charged, and does it in this way that is so subtle and quiet and understate - without losing one drop of intensity.....it was brilliant!!!
5. There's no use holding onto what you life used to be...better to embrace what it is, and maybe work towards what it might be someday.
